What started as a struggle with iron-contaminated water has become a story of hope and sustainability. On 6th June 2026, the Rotary Club of Dibrugarh, under its flagship initiative Project Positive Health, organized a Diabetic Foot Care Awareness Programme at Marwari Arogya Bhawan Hospital, Jyotinagar, Dibrugarh. The programme aimed to educate diabetic patients, caregivers, and the general public about the importance of foot care, early detection of complications, and preventive measures to reduce the risk of diabetic foot ulcers and amputations. The session featured Dr. Sudhir Kumar Jain, Chief Diabetic Foot Surgeon, Sun Valley Hospital, Guwahati, who shared valuable insights on prevention, treatment, and healthy foot care practices for diabetic patients.

Rotary Club of Dibrugarh distributed sanitary pads at Prerona Children’s Home to support menstrual hygiene and well-being among young girls. Through small acts of care, we aim to promote dignity, health, and awareness in the community. Because every girl deserves comfort, confidence, and care.

RYLA 2026

The Rotary Club of Dibrugarh successfully conducted the residential RYLA from 24th–26th April 2026. 50 students from across Assam came together for an inspiring leadership journey. Through sessions on climate, mental health, and cyber security, etc young minds were empowered. Activities, talent hunts, and a peace rally made it truly impactful. They arrived as students—and left as leaders.

Rotary Club of Dibrugarh Forms Interact Club at DP

On 29th April 2026, the Rotary Club of Dibrugarh proudly formed the Interact Club at DPS Dibrugarh, marking a meaningful step towards nurturing young leaders and community service among students. Interact Clubs are Rotary-sponsored youth clubs that encourage leadership, teamwork, social responsibility, and active participation in community development initiatives. The newly formed club will be led by President Krishna, Vice Presidents Akshat and Nipeksha, Secretary Yashika, and Treasurer Chaitanya. The club begins its journey with an enthusiastic membership of 23 students under the guidance of Faculty Coordinator Ms. Mauchumi Dey. The Rotary Club of Dibrugarh looks forward to supporting and mentoring these young changemakers in the years ahead.

Sanitary Pad Dispenser

Rotary Club of Dibrugarh on 13th November, 2025 proudly donated a Sanitary Pad Dispensing Machine to Little Flower School, Dibrugarh, an initiative aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene and ensuring easy access to essential sanitary products for young girls. This machine was generously gifted to our club by PP Rtn. H.R. Jaiswal of Rotary Club of Gorakhpur, whose thoughtful contribution made this service project possible. Rotary continues to work “United for Good”, empowering communities and supporting the well-being of young students through impactful initiatives.

HEALTH CAMP AT KASTURBA GANDHI SCHOOL

On 16th November 2025, a Health Camp was successfully organised at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Lahoal, by the Rotary Club of Dibrugarh. A total of 127 students underwent health check-ups during the camp, and free medicines were distributed to all beneficiaries. Specialist doctors present included Dr. Rina Ahmed (Gynaecology) and Rtn..Dr. Pawan Bajaj (Dermatology), who provided dedicated care and guidance to the students. The programme aimed to promote health awareness and ensure basic medical support for the young girls. The school authorities expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club of Dibrugarh, the doctors, and all volunteers for their valuable contribution.

Rotary Club of Dibrugarh successfully conducted a meaningful Plantation Drive on 16 November at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Lahoal. As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting a greener and healthier environment, members of the club planted 10 saplings within the school premises. The initiative aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of environmental conservation and to enhance the green cover of the campus. The students and staff extended enthusiastic support, making the drive both impactful and memorable. MASSIVE HEALTH CAMP

Project Positive Health is an ongoing initiative by the Rotary & Rotaract Clubs of Dibrugarh, in collaboration with Marwari Arogya Bhavan Hospital. From 12th to 22nd December, the camp is reaching around 230 people every day. The initiative offers blood pressure and blood sugar check-ups, enabling early detection and care. Together, we strive to build a healthier, stronger, and more caring society.

On 25th December, the Rotary Club of Dibrugarh reached out with compassion to Deepsikha Cancer Foundation, Jiban Phukan Nagar, Dibrugarh. The Club donated 4 gas burners with regulators, along with rice and milk, to support those bravely fighting cancer. This gesture was more than a donation—it was a message of care, dignity, and hope. Rotary stands beside every life, believing that even small acts of kindness can bring great comfort.

On Sunday, 12th October 2025, under the National Health Mission, Assam, the Pulse Polio Immunization Drive was successfully conducted across multiple wards of Dibrugarh. The Rotary Club of Dibrugarh actively participated in the initiative by selecting five wards to monitor the progress of the immunization work and support the frontline health workers.

Aid Extended to Fire-Affected Journalist

In keeping with Rotary’s commitment to community service and compassion in times of need, the Rotary Club of Dibrugarh extended financial assistance of ₹21,000 to Mr. Iftikar, a dedicated journalist who recently suffered the tragic loss of his home in a devastating fire. This small gesture is an expression of solidarity with Iftikar and his family during this difficult time.

Maternal and Child Healthcamp

In alignment with Rotary’s monthly theme and the motto Service Above Self, the Rotary Club of Dibrugarh organized a free maternal and child healthcare camp on 27th July at Beheating Tea Estate. The camp was conducted with the active support of gynecologists Dr. Rina Dutta Ahmed and Dr. Gitismita Kakati, along with a dedicated team of pharmacists and medical staff. A total of 118 patients—including pregnant women, mothers, and children—received medical consultations and free medicines. This initiative reflects Rotary Club of Dibrugarh’s commitment to community outreach and accessible healthcare, especially in underserved areas. Skill Internship for Dibru College Students Begins

We are pleased to announce that under the Skill Development Program of the Government of Assam, 12 students from Dibru College will be interning at Prerona Knitting Centre — a collaborative initiative of the Rotary Club of Dibrugarh and the Inner Wheel Club of Dibrugarh. This month-long internship aims to equip students with hands-on vocational training, enhancing their skills and employability. Participants will receive certificates upon successful completion. We sincerely thank Rtn. Prof. Nandita B. Tabildar for accompanying the students and for her valuable support in helping us receive this recognition. Initiatives like these reflect our commitment to empowering youth through skill-based learning and building a self-reliant future.

Rotary Promotes Eco-Bags to Stop Plastic Use

The Rotary Club of Dibrugarh, under the theme Unite for Good for the year 2025-26, has launched a meaningful eco-friendly initiative to combat plastic pollution. In collaboration with the Jyoti Lalita Kanoi Foundation, the club has introduced reusable cloth bags with powerful messaging to encourage the public to say no to plastic. These bags are not just alternatives to plastic; they are a call to action—urging people to adopt sustainable habits and protect the environment. With phrases like “Stop Plastic” and “Use Me, Save Me, Fill Me,” the campaign is designed to be both practical and thought-provoking. This initiative aligns with Rotary’s commitment to supporting the environment, one of its key areas of focus. By distributing these bags in markets and public spaces, the Rotary Club of Dibrugarh hopes to inspire behavioral change and promote responsible consumption in the community.
